Photographs never mean only what they show. Since the invention of photography, as media theorist Vilém Flusser argued, the intention behind an image can no longer be clearly read from its surface. Cause and effect blur. The image becomes open, ambiguous, magical. Photoshop and AI have intensified this further: What a photograph documents or whether it documents anything at all, is barely possible to say anymore.
This ambiguity is the starting point of the work. Images are made that offer no clear reading, placing the responsibility on the viewer. What something means is for each person to decide.
